3. PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
Ashim Tawali-
He resides in Romeoville with his family. A discussion has been sparked
on social media by many who have opinions of their own on how
Romeoville can progress. He has taken the time to go through the
budgets. There are things he doesn't understand. His goal tonight is to
bring more community members together to discuss how to bring more
development projects to our community. He was surprised to see how
many community members are not informed. He is tired of looking at gas
stations. Why aren't more sidewalks being built. He gave a few examples
of what the community wants as stated on social media. He would like to
work towards a more progressive change in our community. He will
continue to attend meetings and to reach out to other community members.
Gary Hoffman-
He has lived in Romeoville for 19 years. He has seen many changes all
very positive. We are fortunate to have a collection of professionals that
make these changes possible. He is on the Fire and Police Commission
and his wife is on Planning and Zoning. There are a lot of positive things
happening in Romeoville such as the train station which put Romeoville on
the map, the interchange, the beautification of Route 53 and the
solarization of Magid Glove. Also, the Exchange Club of Will County is
having a pancake breakfast at the Rec Center from 8:00-11:00 this
weekend.
Ken Burgess-
He has been in Romeoville for 27 years. The improvements that the Board
has made in this Village are amazing. He applauds everything that the
Village has done.
Petra Burgess-
She echoes everything that has been said. She is from Germany and in
the time she has been here, she has seen many changes. There is so
much to do in this Village. We are going in the right direction. The

Lenny Criddle-
He is the new Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. The
Chamber can always count of the Village for their support. We have added
27 new business to our Chamber thus far this year. We have moved to a
new location at Lewis University. The businesses in Romeoville are
excited by all the things that are happening in the Village. The Chamber is
having their Open House on May 22nd. Thanks again to the Village for

exist. It is the right thing to do.

this is what our emergency funds are for. We upgraded some equipment
for our south treatment plant. These are things that are behind the scenes
but very important. We upgraded software at the Recreation Center that
has not been upgraded for 20 years which is a win/win situation for
everyone.
Attended the Police Awards Ceremony. We have a great Police
Department. Thanks to all the men/women in blue.
It is that time of year. Kids are all out. Slow down.
If you see a house with tall grass, call us. We have a system via the web
and phone, use it. We have to keep our neighborhoods looking good.
Join us at Mistwood for the Memorial Day fireworks and the Memorial Day
Service at the Edward "Dco" McCartan Veterans Memorial Garden.
