RES18-2545 A Resolution Authorizing the Waiving of the Bids for and Ratifying the Purchase of Lighting for Discovery Park from Musco Lighting There is not a presentation for this item. This is a housekeeping issue. RES18-2549 A Resolution Authorizing Waiving of Bids to Accept a Quotation for New Tennis Court Lighting from Musco Sports Lighting, Incorporated Ms. Rajzer reported that this accepts a quotation from Musco Sports Lighting, Inc. for new tennis courts lights. The Board previously approved a proposal from Hitchcock for the preliminary design services, final design services, and the construction phase services. We are now ready to have the lights installed. The existing lights have been in place since 1970, so they are almost 50 years old. The wooden poles are beginning to warp and split at the top and are a safety concern. The total cost for the lights will be $144,000.00. Musco Sports Lighting has provided services for many Village projects and we have been very satisfied with their work. Mayor Noak stated that Musco has done very well for us in the past. Trustee Richards stated that Musco is a leader in the industry. We will also see some energy savings from this. Trustee Chavez stated that the tennis courts are very active. We are doing the right thing. RES18-2554 Authorizing the Execution of a Tower Lease Agreement with Village of Romeoville Page 1 Printed on 10/17/2018 Village Board - Workshop Meeting Meeting Minutes August 15, 2018 Lewis University Mrs. Caldwell reported that the Village currently has an agreement with Lewis University for use of their tower for radio communications. The new microwave system to be installed for connection to the Laraway Dispatch Center requires additional equipment to be added. Therefore, a new Lease Agreement is being proposed. The lease will be for 10 years at a cost of $1.00/year. We ask that this be approved pending final attorney review. ORD18-1494 An Ordinance to Authorize Providing Pet Insurance for Retired K-9 Officers Mr. Vogel reported that the Village will offer pet medical insurance for retired K-9 dogs who are retained by their original K-9 Officer. The pet insurance provided to the dog is not to exceed $2500.00 per 12 month rolling period. The insurance for the K-9 Dog will become effective the month following the dog's retirement from the Village of Romeoville. Mayor Noak stated that this is the right thing to do. He doesn't know of many communities that do this. Trustee Griffin asked if the in service animals covered and the reply was yes. He than asked how many we have and the response was one.
