City of San Antonio AGENDA Public Safety Committee Municipal Plaza Building San Antonio, Texas 78205 Tuesday, September 27, 2022 2:00 PM Municipal Plaza ­ B Room The Public Safety Committee will hold its regular meeting in the Municipal Plaza Building, B Room beginning at 2:00 PM. Once convened, the Public Safety Committee will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times. Members of the public can comment or speak on items on the agenda. Public comment will be scheduled during the meeting by the Chair. If an individual signs up to speak on one or more items, all comments will be heard at the same time. Once a quorum is established, the Public Safety Committee shall consider the following: Approval of Minutes 1. Approval of minutes from the August 16, 2022 Public Safety Committee Meeting Public Comment Briefing and Possible Action on 2. Briefing and possible action on San Antonio Police Department Grant awards [Maria Villagomez, Deputy City Manager; William P. McManus, Chief of Police] A. U.S. Department of Justice grant to Support the Child Welfare Strategic Alliance Program in an amount up to $359,806.00 and authorizing a local agreement with Bexar County regarding the distribution of grant funds and the designation of Bexar County as the grant fiscal agent. B. Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in an amount not to exceed $843,000.00. 3. Briefing and possible action on update on Resiliency Hubs and City’s Hazard Mitigation Plan Briefing and Possible Action on 2. Replacement of existing duty handguns, to include an Officer Retention Program, for all City’s Law Enforcement agencies B. Replacement of existing in­car video recording system and upgrade to a system that includes cloud­based storage, integrates with officer’s body­cameras, as well as linking/activating the video recording system of other officers within range Executive Session At any time during the meeting, the Committee may meet in executive session for consultation with the City Attorney's Office concerning attorney client matters under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
