Once convened, the Public Safety Committee will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times. Members of the public can comment or speak on items on the agenda. Briefing and possible action on a San Antonio Police Department grant application to the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act Program for funds from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) to fund services surrounding officer emotional and mental health, suicide prevention, stress reduction, and police officer family assistance in the amount not to exceed $175,000.00. Briefing and possible action on a San Antonio Police Department grant continuance application to the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA) for funds from the Regional Auto Crimes Team Project to fund innovative enforcement and theft prevention techniques in the amount of $1,354,710.00.
