COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL DECEMBER 13, 2025 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM Present: Trustees Brian Bieschke, Jamie Clar, Mike LaRosa, Mark Madej, and Jack Sullivan Also Present: Paula Hewson, Deputy Village Manager Bill Wolf, Chief of Police Mike Hall, Director of Engineering and Public Works Marisa Krawiec, Transportation Program Manager Ryan Franklin, Assistant Director of Community Development Trustee Sullivan introduced the trustees and staff present and briefly explained the purpose of Coffee with the Council. 1. Fred Wilson, 1006 Shannock Lane Mr. Wilson asked if there is activity in Schaumburg involving the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Trustee Madej stated that there was one incident reported in Schaumburg, but no other information has been reported. 2. John Schofield, 919 Pinehurst Lane Mr. Schofield inquired about devices located at the top of light poles and the devices are for a Wi-Fi network. He also asked if there are red-light cameras in Schaumburg. Trustee Bieschke reported that the devices are for 5G microcells. Trustee Sullivan reported that there are no red-light cameras in Schaumburg. 3. Joan Mundstock, 709 Cambridge Drive Ms. Mundstock asked if the bike path is complete on Rodenburg Road to Wise Road. Trustee Bieschke stated that the work is not complete and the project is part of the 5 year Capital Improvement Plan. He explained that the project includes extending the bike path to Irving Park Road. 4. Bob Schmidt, 928 Glastonbury Lane Mr. Schmidt thanked the Engineering and Public Works Department for plowing the snow quickly and said the staff did a great job. Trustee Sullivan stated that the snowplow schedules change and rotate, so streets may be plowed in a different order with each snowfall. 1 COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL DECEMBER 13, 2025 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM 5. Ken Ogorzalek, 711 Cambridge Drive Mr. Ogorzalek asked if there is an update regarding road construction specifically at the intersection of Weathersfield Road and Braintree Drive. Trustee Bieschke stated Braintree Drive is scheduled to be fully reconstructed between Weathersfield Road and Wise Road and includes adding a roundabout. He stated that Weathersfield Road to Schaumburg Road is a separate resurfacing project, and Schaumburg Road to Bode Road is a separate resurfacing project. Mr. Ogorzalek stated that he saw a boot (wheel lock clamp) being placed on a car in Schaumburg and asked who placed the boot on a car. Trustee Clar stated that police officers issue tickets and the auxiliary officers place the boot on vehicles. Chief Wolf stated a boot is placed on a vehicle after multiple citations are issued. 6. Fred Crivlare, 192 Grovenor Drive Mr. Crivlare stated that the street on Kingsport Drive was recently paved. He said that the street was dry, but it looked wet and he was wondering why that occurred. Trustee Bieschke explained that the top layer material on the road is different and darker than the bottom layer material. He stated that a year after paving a road, a sealer may be installed to preserve and extend the life of the road. 7. George Dunham, 212 Woburn Lane Mr. Dunham stated that the snowplow schedule rotation can cause confusion for residents, but all the roads will be plowed. 8. Robert Leesman, 1515 Syracuse Lane Mr. Leesman stated that he has not been able to connect to 311 from his cell phone and reported his issue at the last meeting. He said that Tom Lake, Manager of the 311 Center, provided information about certain phone carriers may not offer a reliable connection to 311, but the landline will connect. Mr. Leesman stated that he also cleared the snow from drains in the street. Trustee Bieschke stated that clearing fire hydrants is also helpful to save the fire department time in the event of a fire. 2 COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL DECEMBER 13, 2025 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM 9. Bobbi Sloan, 136 Fennel Court Ms. Sloan acknowledged Harry Raimondi, Chairperson of the Zoning Board, during the recent meeting and that he kept the meeting organized and on task. She stated that the snowplow did not clean her street. Mr. Hall stated that four of the eight trucks stopped working for the contractor, which caused delays, but all streets were cleared. He stated that the equipment issues have been resolved. 10. Steve Gruenwald, 132 Sumac Court Mr. Gruenwald stated that although the snowplow equipment failed, eventually his street was cleared and he appreciated that the snowplow did not pile the snow at the end of his driveway. 11. Carolyn Jackson, 1082 Groton Court Ms. Jackson stated that the traffic on Braintree Drive near Schaumburg Road needs a turn arrow so that traffic going straight on Braintree Drive is not blocked. Trustee Sullivan stated that Ms. Krawiec will review and follow up with Ms. Jackson. 12. Bernie and Susie Mayle, 2140 Hitching Post Ms. Mayle stated that the Schaumburg Park District Facebook page posts a list of addresses in Schaumburg that are decorated with holiday lights. Trustee Bieschke stated that there is a link to Google Maps providing directions for all addresses so that you can drive around and view the houses decorated with holiday lights.
