COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL FEBRUARY 14TH, 2026 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM Present: Trustees Jack Sullivan, Jamie Clar, Mark Madej, Brian Bieschke, and Michael LaRosa Absent: Trustee Patel Also Present: Brian Townsend, Village Manager Bill Wolf, Chief of Police Ryan Franklin, Assistant Director of Community Development Sidney Kenyon, Director of Transportation Justin Briski, Superintendent-Field Services Jane Lentino, Village Clerk Trustee Sullivan introduced the trustees and staff present and explained the purpose of Coffee with the Council. 1. Stan Giska, 1336 Princeton Lane Mr. Giska expressed concerns regarding weeds growing at the corner of Rodenburg Road and Watts Street. Village Manager Brian Townsend clarified that the area is unincorporated and not within the jurisdiction of the Village of Schaumburg. Mr. Giska also raised concerns about a section of asphalt at Braintree Drive and Weathersfield Way, noting that a patch appears to be missing the top layer. Trustee Bieschke advised that Braintree Drive is scheduled for construction as soon as weather conditions permit. Village Manager Townsend requested that Public Works inspect the area and complete any necessary patching. 2. Joan Mundstock, 709 Cambridge Drive Ms. Mundstock inquired whether there were any updates regarding the development of new bike paths within the Village. Trustee Bieschke responded that there are no new updates at this time. He noted, however, that bike paths are being installed along Higgins Road and Martingale Road, as well as a previously missing segment on Irving Park Road. 3. Ken Ogorzalek, 711 Cambridge Drive Mr. Ogorzalek expressed concern regarding missing signage at the intersection of Higgins Road and Meacham Road. Village Manager Brian Townsend explained that the intersection falls under IDOT jurisdiction and is currently under construction. He stated that the plans will be reviewed and, if signage is not included, the Village will request that it be added. Mr. Ogorzalek also extended his well wishes to the Village regarding the new ownership of Streets of Woodfield. Mr. Townsend shared that the new owners are very positive and are planning to make additional investments to attract new tenants to the property. COFFEE WITH THE COUNCIL FEBRUARY 14TH, 2026 9:00 AM – COMMUNITY ROOM Additionally, Mr. Ogorzalek commented that the stairwells in the parking garage are dirty and contain food and debris. Mr. Townsend stated that the Village will contact the property owners to have the issue addressed. 4. John Smith, 1080 Roslyn Court Mr. Smith expressed concern regarding vehicles speeding along Parker Drive between Braintree Drive and Salem Drive and inquired whether speed bumps could be installed. Trustee Clar explained that speed bumps are not permitted under the Village ordinance and may cause damage to Village vehicles. Trustee Madej suggested deploying speed radar equipment in the area as a deterrent to speeding. He also requested that Chief Wolf review the situation and address any concerns. 5. Sami and Janet Abu-Douleh, 1327 Prairie, Des Plaines Mr. Sami Abu-Douleh inquired whether there are any new development plans for the former Sears Auto Center at Woodfield Mall. Trustee Madej stated that there are no new plans at this time and noted that the property remains under Sears’ ownership. 6. At the conclusion of the meeting, a general discussion took place regarding fiber optic services and the number of companies operating in Schaumburg. Village Manager Brian Townsend noted that the topic had previously been discussed at Planning, Building and Development Committee meetings. He indicated that several companies have expressed interest in constructing fiber-to- the-premises infrastructure; however, a number of details remain to be addressed. He stated that implementation is unlikely to begin in 2026 and is more realistically anticipated in 2027. The following were in attendance to visit/observe: 7. Fred Wilson, 1006 Shannock Lane 8..
