Civil Service Commission

Approved Minutes Held on April 1, 2025 12:00 P.M. City Council Chambers 1. Pledge of Allegiance Completed. 2. Roll Call Roll call was taken. Commissioners Bogaczyk and Miller were present. Solicitor Kennedy was present. 3. Public Comment Mr. Terry Thompson inquired about the status of the next Scranton Police Department certified list. 4. Minutes March minutes were tabled until the next Civil Service meeting in order to obtain approval by quorum of Commissioners who were present at the previous meeting. 5. Bills and Invoices A. By way of motion and a second, the Commission approved the payment for the invoice from Atty. Kennedy for $2,422.50 for legal services. B. By way of motion and a second, the Commission approved the payment of an invoice from the Scranton Times for $115.16 for the 2025 meetings advertisement. C. By way of motion and a second, the Commission approved the payment for the invoice from the Scranton Times for $62.36 for the January special meeting. 6. Unfinished Business A. The commission discussed the Police Department scores with NTN. Per an investigation done by the Solicitor the Commission determined score with NTN will be maintained for one year and no changes will be made to the rules. B. The commission discussed the Police Entry Oral Examinations Certified List. The remaining background search has been completed. The list is anticipated to be ready for presentation to the Commission by the next meeting. 7. New Business A. Thomas Miller was appointed by City Council as an alternate on the Civil Service Commission. 8. Adjournment A. By way of motion and a second the meeting was adjourned.
