Shah Trustees James H, Jahnson Chair Evans called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. Khem Khoeun Ralph Klein Alison Pure Slavin Commissioner Rottner made a motion, seconded by Vice Chair Levine to approve the Keith A. Robinson Minutes of the April 17, 2023 Regular Meeting as written. Motion carried 5-0. EdieSueSutker Manager John T. Lockerby Counsel Michael M. Large The Board reviewed memoranda presented by Chief Hoeflich announcing the retirement of Firefighter Brian Diedrich. Commissioner Potthast made a motion, seconded by Vice Chair Levine, to accept the retirement of Firefighter Diedrich Motion earned 5-0. Chief Baker provided an update on the Lateral Entry and Entry Level Police Officer Awards and Distinctions recruitment processes. As of April 28, 2023, 57 applications have been requested for American Public Works Association Lateral Entry and as of May 5, 2023, 23 applications have been requested for Entry (APWA) Accreditation Leve!. Commission an Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) Chief Hoeflich announced the Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process will launch on May Gold Level Clean Air Counts Community 16, 2023 and the department is expecting approximately 20 or more candidates. Chair Evans requested the Board Secretary to confirm interview dates as soon as possible. Government Finance Officers Association Budget Award Government Finance Officers In an attempt to increase the candidate pool for Police Officers, revisions to the BFPC Association Certificate of Rules & Regulations were recommended by Chief Baker and approved by the BFPC Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting effective April 24, 2023 to include revision of the age requirement from 21 to 20 years of Illinois Law Enforcement age at the time of application and retain the requirement of at least 21 years of age at the Accreditation ((LEAP) time of hire; reduce the requirement associated with military service from four years to Insurance Services Office (ISO) two years at the time of the written examination; removal of the candidate Class One Fire Department reimbursement requirement and the personal appearance policy sign offs at the time of State of Illinois Certified Health application; and removal of residency requirements for specific counties.
