Village of Skokie SKOKIE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS Village Hall MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING 5127 Oakton Street Skokie, Illinois 60077 August 28,2023 Phone (847) 673-0500 Fax (847) 933-8200 PRESENT: www.skokie.org Vice Chair Helene Levine SkokieVision Municipal Cable Commissioner Nicole Potthast 1660AMSkokie Commissioner Bruce Rottner Commissioner Ferdinand Soco ALSO PRESENT: Debra Stinson, Director of HR Brian Baker, Police Chief Council-Manager Government Jeffrey Hoeflich, Fire Chief Mayor George Van Dusen Clerk PramodC.Shah Trustees James H.Johnson Vice Chair Levine called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. and conducted a roll call. The Khem Khoeun following Commissioners were in attendance: Nicole Potthast, Bruce Rottner, Ralph Klein Alison PureSlovin Ferdinand Soco, and Vice Chair Helene Levine. Board Chair Willard Evans was not Keith A. Robinson present. Also present were Police Chief Brian Baker, Fire Chief Jeffrey Hoeflich and Edie Sue Sutker Manager John T, Lockerby Board Secretary Debra Stinson. Counsel Michael M. Large Commissioner Rottner made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Potthast to approve the Minutes of the July 17, 2023 Regular Meeting as written. Motion carried 4-0. The Board reviewed a memorandum presented by Chief Hoeflich announcing the Awards and Distinctions resignation of Firefighter Kenneth Tezak. Commissioner Rottner made a motion, American Public Works Association seconded by Commissioner Soco to accept the resignation of Firefighter Kenneth (APWA) Accreditation Tezak. Motion carried 4-0. Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) The Board also reviewed a memorandum from Chief Baker announcing the retirement of Gold Level Clean Air Counts Community Police Officer Steven Odeshoo. Commissioner Potthast made a motion, seconded by Commission Rottner to accept the retirement of Police Office Steven Odeshoo. Motion Government Finance Officers Association Budget Award carried 4-0. Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of The Board discussed the possibility of utilizing multiple Polygraph examination vendors Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting in order to timeiy process the candidate pool. Board Secretary Debra Stinson will lilinois Law Enforcement provide information relative to additional providers at the next meeting. Accreditation (ILEAP) Insurance Services Office (150) At 6:10 pm, Commissioner Potthast, seconded by Commissioner Soco, made a motion Class One Fire Department to move into Executive Session. Motion carried 4-0. State of Illinois Certified Health Department The next regular Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 18, 2023 at Tree City U.S.A.
