'!rj l^f _ _ _ Skokie^Hino'is'60077 Phone (847) 673-0500 Fax (847)673-0525 www.skokie.org SKOKIE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING May 19,2025 PRESENT: Chair Willard Evans, Jr. Vice Chair Helene Levine Commissioner Nicole Potthast Commissioner Bruce Rottner Commissioner Ferdinand Soco ALSO PRESENT: Debra Stinson, Board Secretary Jeffrey Hoeflich, Fire Chief Jesse Barnes, Police Chief The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.by Board Chair Willard Evans, Jr. As there were no corrections to the April 21, 2025 meeting minutes, the minutes were approved. Memoranda presented by Police Chief Jesse Barnes announcing the retirement of Police Officer Robert Roque, the resignation of Probationary Police Officers Adam Vaid and David Huang, along with the resignation of Police Officer Jonathan Ngo were reviewed and approved. The Board expressed gratitude for their service and extended well wishes to each of them. The Police Sergeant promotional process launched February 24, 2025. Five candidates applied for promotion and completed each of the segments up to the BFPC interviews which will be conducted this evening during the Executive Session. The Fire Lieutenant promotional process will launch during the month of June 2025. The Final Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List comprised of 42 candidates was certified by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners with an expiration date of May 18, 2027, or when exhausted. Board Chair Willard Evans announced he will not be present at the June 16, 2025 meeting. Two Police Officers were scheduled to be sworn in at the Village Board meeting and Commissioner Bruce Rottner had the honor of performing the swearing-in ceremony. With no further business on the agenda, at 6:15pm Chair Evans moved to adjourn the meeting to move into Executive Session. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Bruce Rottner and approved unanimously. The next regular Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025. Respectfully submitted, M^^. Debra W.
