12685 MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Skokie, Cook County, Illinois held in the Council Chambers at 5127 Oakton Street at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 The Combined Fire and Police Honor Guard presented the Colors and Mayor Van Dusen led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Mayor called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the Roll. Those present were Trustee Roberts, Sutker, Bromberg Shah, Gray- Keeler and Mayor Van Dusen. Trustee Perille was not present. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Moved: Trustee Shah Seconded: Trustee Bromberg Ayes: Roberts, Sutker, Bromberg, Shah, Gray-Keeler and Mayor Van Dusen Nays: None. Absent: Perille. MOTION CARRIED * Approve, as submitted, minutes of regular meeting held Monday, January 7, 2013. Omnibus vote. * Approve Voucher List #17-FY13 of January 22, 2013. Omnibus vote. Proclamations and Resolutions. A. Proclamations: Morton and Shirley Paradise Day – January 30, 2013 Mayor Van Dusen read a Proclamation expressing gratitude and appreciation to Shirley and Mort Paradise for their contributions and tireless commitment to helping make the Village of Skokie one of the best communities in the United States of America. *National Burn Awareness Month – February 2013 Omnibus vote. Recognition, Awards and Honorary Presentations. A. Citizen’s Life Saving Award Fire Chief Ralph Czerwinski presented a Citizen’s Life Saving Award to Sinan Milanovic for his lifesaving actions on December 17, 2012 at the Armond King Apartments. The Chief noted that thru the efforts of former Corporation Counsel Hanley, Deputy Chief Fire Chief James Walters and the cooperation of the Cook County Housing Authority, this building received a lifesaving sprinkler system. B. Honorary Presentation: Skokie Firefighter’s Benevolent Fund and Schaeffer’s Food and Spirits presented a check for $2,900 to Maureen Murphy to support the Community Giving Program. Presentation of 2012 National Citizen Survey – Ann Tennes, Director of Marketing and Communications and Damema Man, Senior Project Manager with The National Citizen Survey. Senior Project Manager Damema Mann, with the National Citizen Survey gave a detailed presentation providing significant details on resident responses to the Village’s citizen survey administered in October 2012. Ordinance 13-1-Z-3963 Motion to adopt an ordinance granting a special use permit to allow outdoor storage at 7334 Ridgeway Avenue, Skokie, Illinois in an M3 Industry district (2012-47P). This item is on the consent agenda for second reading and adoption. Omnibus vote. *B. Ordinance 13-1-Z-3964 Motion to adopt an ordinance vacating an unopened and unimproved residential east-west alley between the 4900 block of Lamon Avenue and Lavergne Avenue within an area bounded by Coyle Avenue, Lavergne Avenue, Morse Avenue, and Lamon Avenue, in an R2 Single-Family Residential district (2012-48P). This item is on the consent agenda for second reading and adoption. Omnibus vote. Citizen Comments.
