Meeting was called to order at 6:32

Minutes Jeff moved to accept minutes. Seconded. Approved.
Farmers MarketP
Opening day is June 5. Possibly a “grand opening” with Scout presentation of colors, Mayor speech, attendance by
trustees and CAC. Jennifer has confirmed that we have some reusable green shopping bags to hand out. In the process
of ordering more. Awaiting market map. Jennifer has ordered flower seed packets to hand out. Jennifer has worked
on and Village has published an Emergency Plan for the market. Davorka is in the process of ordering shirts for CAC
members who haven’t received one. Also, ordering name badges for those who need. Biju has ordered 1000 loyalty
cards. Ann Tennes is following up with the local newspaper to include an article about Skokie Farmer’s Market. Morton
Grove, Evanston and Park Ridge have had articles the past two weeks.
BOY nomination form
Information is available on Village website, Chamber of Commerce, Farmers Market, Facebook and will be available at
the Festival of Cultures.
Festival of Cultures CAC will be sharing a spot at the Chamber of Commerce table. CAC members will hand out
nomination forms, have the QR code available to scan for Business of the Year nominations. There will also be
information available for the Farmers Market and possibly seed packets or shopping bags.
Trust Me Media Literacy Education
Michael Spikes and Mariah Cherem from the Skokie Library are working on a program to rebroadcast Trust Me and have
a panel to answer questions. Idea we are working on is to include information on our website that would be another
source to check veracity of on line posts. Jeff Schvimer working on this.
Miscellaneous
At the last meeting George brought up the possibility of having certified voting register people at the market. This was
not approved for this year.
At the last meeting Ted brought up the possibility of having a Skokie Car Show parked at the market to advertise the
opening day with the car show displaying information about the market. Not approved.
New residence packets at this time are distributed through the Village if requested. Discussion about the possibility of
including information on Skokie businesses.

It shall be the duty of the Consumer Affairs Commission to coordinate consumer affairs activities, carry on educational
activities on consumer matters, supervise the preparation of consumer affairs reports and recommend to the Mayor and
the Board of Trustees ordinances, rules and regulations and methods of enforcement in relation to consumer affairs
.
