Meeting Called to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:09 PM. II. Approval of Minutes Howard Meyer motioned to approve the minutes from April 10, 2024. George Mathew seconded. The motion passed. III. Old Business There was no old business. IV. New Business Take Flight Spirits Discussion o Natalie Lopatkiewicz spoke with Carrie Cole from Take Flight Spirits to set up a meeting about the Consumer Affairs Commission and Take Flight Spirits' experience after being named Business of the Year in 2023. o They have scheduled a follow-up meeting for later in August. #621362  Gas Station Pricing Enforcement o The Commission discussed the possibility of revisiting previous discussion regarding suggesting an ordinance that would enforce the posting of gas station prices. o A discussion followed regarding if the commission had a defined mission statement and if we should revisit updating the mission. In doing so, the Commission could have a positive impact in implementing Skokie Ordinances that helped consumers. Advertising for New Members o The commission talked about the need for advertising to attract new Commission members. Business of the Year o Discussion took place regarding the Business of the Year. Ballot boxes have been placed at the four nominees for 2023 and at the Village front desk. o Solicitation of nominees began on August 1, 2024. V. Public Comment There was no public comment. VI. Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made at 7:00 PM and was passed unanimously.
