Skokie Fire Department Foreign Fire Insurance Board April 18th, 2025 Minutes: Foreign Fire Insurance Board: Chief Hoeflich, FF Schmitt, FF SimonelJi, FF Fisher, FF Pappas, FF Gasior, FF Finnander Meeting Called to Order: Chairperson: Chief Hoeffich called meeting to order Time: 0906 Members Present: Chief Hoeflich, FF Gasior, FF Fisher, FF Pappas, FF Finnander Members Not Present: FF Simonelli, FF Schmitt Non-members Present: DC Eschner Approval of Minutes from March 10th,2025: Motion to accept FF Fisher, Second FF Gasior. Minutes approved 5-0 Reports: Chairperson: • The bunk room project has been approved. The Village Manager's Office has been notified of the project. Members of the bunk room sub-committee have met with the contractors. Work is expected to begin starting in August. The current time line of the project looks to be 8 weeks. Ensuring that the timeline was adhered to, was made very clear to the contractor. Paint color and flooring have been selected. Selecting storage for each individual room should be one of our next priorities. DC Jagman to follow up Reintroduction of the Pick List- Last meeting questions were proposed about further details on the logistics of using Galls. FF Fisher followed up with FF Schutz: o Returning an Item? Members will have to pay return shipping o What happens If someone wants to go over the allotted dollar amount? The member wi!l be able to pay the remaining balance out of their pocket o Where does the item ship? Members of the board determined that all shipping will be sent to the station and not individual's residence o What is a fair dollar amount? Members of the board determined that each member of the Skokie Fire Department will receive $350 to use. o How often will the pick list occur? Members of the board determined the pick list will be bi-annual going forward. o What is the deadline for the picklist? Members of the board determined the pick list would close after 2 months. A motion to amend the request to $350 per member, or $42,000, was made by FF Fisher, it was Seconded by FF Gasior. The request was amended 5-0. A motion to approve the request with the new dollar amount was made by FF Pappas, seconded by FF Rnnander. The motion was approved 5-0. FF Fisher to work with FF Schutz in facilitating the pick list New Business: Request 1324306952- Cold Plunge for Station 18- FF Boccassini requests the amount of $8,604 for a cold plunge for Station 18. Concerns were made regarding the space available for the cold plunge. Station 18 board members were not present to further discuss their plans for placement. A motion to deny the request and have FF Boccassini resubmit the request when the space he suggested becomes available was made by FF Pappas, seconded by FF Fisher. Motion denied 5-0. Request 1324465742- Belt Squat Machine for Station 18- FF Boccassini requests the amount of $2,778 for a belt squat machine for Station 18. Concerns were made regarding the space available for the belt squat machine. Station 18 board members were not present to further discuss their plans for placement. A motion to table the request to discuss with 1 8 members the potential space for the item was made by FF Finnander, seconded by FF Gasior. Motion tabled 5-0. Request 1328410177- 3-person indoor traditionai sauna for Station 18- FF Boccassini requests the amount of $6,338 for a three-person Sauna for station 18. Concerns were made regarding the space available for the sauna along with future plans for the print shop. Station 18 board members were not present to further discuss their plans for placement A motion to table the request to discuss with 18 members the potential space for the item was made by FF Finnander, seconded by FF Gasior. Motion tabled 5-0. Request 1328416536- FF Adams requests the amount of $3,949 for a new grill for Station 18. The same model, but in stainless steel was found by DC Jagman for $4,200. This price included shipping and assembiy. A motion to amend the request to $4,200 for the stainless-steei option was made by FF Finnander, seconded by FF Fisher. Motion approved 5-0.
