SKOKIE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2022 PRESENT: Chairperson Paul Pitalis, Police Chief Brian Baker, Howard Rosenburg, Marcie Claus, Leslie Post-Weissinger, Director of Engineering Russ Rietveld, Trustee Edie Sue Sutker, Melissa Villegas, EXCUSED: Vice Chair Mark Penning, Frank Ippolito, Deputy Chief Stephen Jagman, Director of Public Works Max Slankard, Linda Perlin, Kenneth Mantel, Dennis Rizo, Trustee Alison Pure-Slovin, Paul Kruszynski, Deputy Chief Nicholas Eschner, Fire Chief Jeff Hoeflich, Senior Engineer Samantha Maximilian ABSENT: Daniel Fink, Edward McCarthy, Bryant Smith, Cornell Collins, Mitchell Kushner, Mayha Syed, CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Chairperson Pitalis called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. The minutes of the November 16th meeting were approved. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT Deputy Chief Jagman gave the Fire Department Report. Calls are expected to be up a little compared to last year. QA discussion followed. POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT Chief Baker gave the Police Department Report. Eight of fourteen license plates readers have been installed and are operational. The remaining six are in for permit. Chief Baker also updated the commission that Eric McCune has been promoted to Sergeant. QA discussion followed. ENGINEERING REPORT Russ Rietveld gave the Engineering Report. IDOT construction @ Dempster, Niles Center and Skokie Boulevard is complete! QA discussion followed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Engineering is still working with the County regarding the missing ‘no left turn’ sign on the north side of Oakton street near the corner of Kostner. NEW BUSINESS None. ADJOURNMENT At 7:46 p.m. a motion was made to adjourn which was seconded and then passed unanimously.
