SKOKIE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY. MARCH 20, 2024 PRESENT: Marcie CIaus, Fire DC Op Nicholas Eschner, Scott Ford, Mitchell Kushner, Ibriham Mansuri, Fred Moore, Chairperson Paul Pitalis, Leslie Post-Weissinger, Director of Engineering Russ Rietveld, Dennis Rizo, Howard Rosenburg, Jeffrey Schvimer, Police DC John Oakley and Vice Chairperson Melissa VHIegas EXCUSED; Police Chief Jesse Bames, Fire Chief Jeff Hoeflich, Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Jagman, Paul Kmszynski, Senior Engineer Samantha Maximilian, Mark Penning, Linda Perlin, Trustee Alison Pure-Slovin, Doug Rocklin, Director of Public Works Max Slankard, Bryant Smith and Trustee Edie Sue Sutker ABSENT: ConneII Collins, Kimani Levy and Nicholas Vickers CALL TO ORDER AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Chairperson Pitalis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Quorum has been obtained. The minutes of February 21st meeting were approved subject to Mitch Kushner being added as present for the meeting. PQL!CJEJ)EPARTMENT REPORT Deputy Chief Oakley presented the Police Department February Report. The Police Department has been making a concerted effort for driver education shown by the February increases in traffic warnings and traffic citations. It was noted that accidents were down. QA discussion followed. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT Deputy Chief Nick Eschner gave the Fire Department report. QA discussion foilowed. ENGINEERING REPORT Russ Rietveld provided the Engineering report and presented an overview of the Village's Bikeway System Plan, QA discussion followed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS Chairperson Paul Pitalis reminded the commission of their ability to be in the July 4th parade. Mitch Kushner confirmed he will be bringing a fire engine for those interested in joining the parade. ADJOURNMENT At 7:50 p.m. a motion was made to adjourn which was seconded and then passed unanimously.
