Skokie Technology Advancement and Transformation (STAT) Commission Meeting Minutes Date: January 27, 2026 Time: 7 p.m. Location: Skokie Village Hall Conference Room A Attendees: Scott Shamberg, Trustee Iverson, Alex Franz, Avi Nutkis, Ujjval Patel, Michael Lonero, Christopher Oh, David Coyne, Michael Lamprecht, Vijay Sanghvi, and Catherine Herscher. Absent: Syed Mahmood, Michael Calder and Ken Grossman. 1. Call to Order Scott called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Motion by Avi Nutkis. Seconded by Ujjval Patel. All approved. 2. Welcome and Introductions The group introduced themselves to new commissioners, Catherine Herscher and Vijay Sanghvi. 3. Approve minutes from November 18, 2025. Motion by David Coyne. Seconded by Ujjval Patel. All approved. 4. Discussion Non-Programming Items  Village AI Policy IT Director, Tomasz Tarasiuk, gave a presentation on Village cybersecurity technology and how the Village is utilizing/regulating Artificial Intelligence now and in the future.  Spring Greening Event Alex informed the group that the event is Sunday, April 12. Morning and afternoon timeslots are available for volunteers. Alex will share the information when he sends out the minutes.  Technology Glossary Michael Lamprecht will share new items with Avi. 5. Discussion on Programming  Home Medical Technology Chris will have more at the next meeting. Ujjval medical contact will be removed from future agendas. Avi suggested including cybersecurity considerations for smart home technology.  Consumer as the Product/Social Media Literacy The team explained that the event was well attended with approximately 50 people in attendance. The group discussed having another event in July. Future events might discuss specific topics like social media literacy for parents.  A Program about Navigating Aggressive Sales Tactics Alex explained that the one-pagers are posted to the STAT website. Michael will send new information when complete.  Program on New Technology in Cars The team will have draft a one-pager for release by the next meeting.  Crypto Scams Program Alex will reach out to Library to schedule a date in March.  Smart Home Technology Remove program from future agendas.  CUB Event The group is targeting September or October for the event.  General AI Program David and Ujjval will connect to discuss the program which will focus on agent building. Trustee Iverson suggested including information on how to create summaries of Village Board meetings. The team is targeting April and September presentations.  Cybersecurity Avi explained that the next presentation will be in May.  Science Fair Alex explained that the fair is Saturday, March 7. Vijay, Ujjval, Michael Lamprecht, and Michael Lonero volunteered to judge.  STAT Website – How the Village is Using Tech Alex will have more to report at the next meeting.  A table at the Farmers’ Market Kate volunteered to help.  Sustainable Technology Alex will follow up with Sustainability Coordinator but encouraged the group to pursue the event while he waits to hear back. The group is targeting an August event.  Social Media Literacy for Parents Avi is talking with school districts and will have more information. Kate volunteered to help.  STAT Expo Postponed. 6. New Business Avi reminded the group of the Fourth of July parade and if STAT wants to participate they should begin discussing it. 7. Public Comment None 8.
