A subsequent meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2025 to be held in the event that items on the this agenda cannot be taken up in one meeting. I. Open Session Chairperson announces the intent to move to enter into Executive Session pursuant to Mass. General Laws chapter 30A, Section 21 (a) (1) for the following purposes: To discuss and vote on whether to hold a hearing (at a future date) in the matter of Special Order (SO) #24-036, which involves the potential discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against a public officer, employee, staff member, or individual, unless the employee requests an open session. If the discussion and vote is held in Executive Session, the Board of Police Commissioners will not reconvene in Open Session following the conclusion of the Executive Session; and To continue a multi-day disciplinary hearing and to discuss and vote on the discipline or dismissal of (including the pay status), or complaints brought against, a Springfield Police Officer, in the matter of Special Order (SO) #24-015. If the hearing and vote is held in Executive Session, the Board of Police Commissioners will not reconvene in Open Session following the conclusion of the Executive Session. A roll call vote is required. II. Executive Session - Pursuant to Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 30A, section 21(a)(1) A. Special Order (SO) # 24-036 The Board will enter into Executive Session to discuss and vote on whether to hold a hearing (at a future date) in the matter of Special Order (SO) #24-036, which involves the potential discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against a public officer, employee, staff member, or individual, unless the employee requests an open Board of Police Commissioners Page 1 Printed 3/27/2025 Regular Agenda April 1, 2025 session. Special Order (SO) #24-015– Violation of Rules & Regulations and Policies The Board will enter into Executive Session to continue a multi-day disciplinary hearing to discuss the discipline or dismissal of, and/or complaints or charges brought against a public officer, employee, staff member, or individual, in the matter of Special Order (SO) #24-015. The employee has not requested an open session. The Board of Police Commissioners will not reconvene in Open Session following the conclusion of Executive Session.
