Mayor’s Commission for Children Minutes January 14th, 2025, 8 am Springfield Chamber of Commerce Bill Foster South Meeting Room Member present: Dr. Christy Davis, Dr. Tom Masterson, Dr. Elizabeth Andrews, Bria Coale, Emily Denniston, Dr. Kaleen Long Advisory present: Rinda Davis, Jaimie Trussell, Kimberly Shinn Brown, Callie Carroll, Dr. Christine Moellering, Dr. Doug McNeal, Dr. Diana Piccolo, Dr. Kayce Morton, Dr. Jennifer Baker, Chris Jarratt, Karen Kunkel Dr. Masterson opened the meeting at 8:02. Minutes from December 2024 were approved. Announcements by Brigitte and others around the table. Rinda introduced the leads in the Family Connects initiative from the Greene County Health Department. Bre and Ruth gave us an update on the number of cases they have seen to date and the impact it has had on Parents as Teachers caseload. They will be hiring another nurse as the number continues to grow with both hospitals. They have a bilingual nurse that has made inroads with the Hispanic community. Family Connects will present to the community group-The Good Community in April. After discussion with the presenters, adjourned at 8:45 to take MCC 2025 picture by Chris Akin the city photographer. Next meeting will be off-site at the Council of Churches building on Division Street. March meeting will be off-site at Mercy Hospital at the SPS Health Academy. Reminder: If inclement weather and SPS closes we will not meet.
