Page 2 of 5 Villa Park Liquor Commission Minutes Regular meeting - 08-26-2025 7:00pm 1. New Commission Member Zack Wagner was sworn in by Village Clerk Laukant 2. President Patrick opened the meeting at 7:06pm 3. Roll Call – President Patrick, Commission Members DeTomaso, Weiss, Wagner and King in attendance 4. No public comments on agenda Items or Non agenda items 5. Minutes from August 6, 2025 meeting approved by unanimous voice vote 6. Discussion of Reports commissioners would like at each meeting. a. Commissioner DeTomaso stated the agenda packet included 2 months of gaming reports and that more reports would be coming monthly in the future including reports from code enforcement regarding violations and permits regarding licensed establishments. 7. Discussion of One Day Liquor License Policy a. President Patrick discussed one day special event liquor licenses and his desire for future special event licenses to be approved by the liquor commission. Commissioner King agreed. b. Commissioner DeTomaso discussed easing the paperwork for special event licenses for established businesses 8. Discussion of Tracking of Basset Licenses a. Commissioner DeTomaso discussed the legal requirements for alcohol servers in establishments to be Bassett certified and the documentation we are supposed to be provided b. President Patrick and Commissioner DeTomaso discussed the importance of ensuring the tracking and review of Bassett certification is up to date. Further discussion ensued among the commissioners on accomplishing compliance. c. Commissioner DeTomaso suggested the Liquor Commission Members become Bassett certified themselves. d. At President Patrick’s request, Commissioner DeTomaso moved and seconded by Commissioner King recommending the Village Board consider having the Village cover the expense for the liquor commissioners Basset certifications. Unanimous roll call vote followed. 9. Discussion of Liquor Licenses and Fees a. President Patrick requested the commissioners research the licenses we have and determine if we need to restructure the licenses as well as review the fees. 10. Commissioner Comments a. Commissioner Wagner expressed he is happy to be on this commission b. Commissioner King asked that the commission c. Commissioner Weiss agreed with Commissioner King d. Commissioner DeTomaso agreed with previous sentiments 11. Liquor Commissioner Comments a. President Patrick thanked the commissioners for joining the commission and introduced VPPD Sgt Bryan Hruby as the commission Staff Liaison 12. Village Staff Comments a. VPPD Sgt Bryan Hruby had no comments 13.
