Chair Report:
Google Group Email Issue – Discussed the issue with Jim Knasel not receiving the emails through the
Google Group. We resolved the issue and Jim was able to receive emails via the group distribution list
again.
WBAC 2019 Budget – Explained that we will need to submit our budget for 2019 and asked the group to
email me ideas of what we would need the budget for and the approximate dollar value.
Wheaton Bicycle Licenses – Explained that a Wheaton Resident contacted us about bicycle licenses and
I was able to find out that the police department will register bikes every Saturday for $.50 per bicycle.
Ongoing Business:
Bike Festival – August 11th – Paula Barrington from the Downtown Wheaton Association attended the
meeting. This is the last meeting before our Bike Festival. The list of vendors for this year’s festival was
the first thing we discussed and went through all vendors confirming whether they would be attending.
For those vendors that hadn’t committed, we will be reaching out to them for confirmation on whether
they will be in attendance and for those that are coming, make sure to provide that information to Paula
Barrington.
The judges for this year’s festival will be as follows: Jody S. from Grahams Chocolates, Diane Moore
from Moore Toys and Wheaton City Councilman John Prendeville.
We briefly discussed the timeline of events and Paula will be emailing us a document that covers the
time-line as well as the scripts for the speeches.
History Ride – September 22nd: Determined that the History Ride will take place on September 22nd
from 2pm until around 3:30pm (approximate). The distance of the ride will be around 8 miles total and
Carrie Provost is still in the process of developing the route.
