Public Comment: None II. Chair Report None III. Ongoing Business: Way Finding Signage –Michelle Dunlap reported that there was no communication from the city of Wheaton on the updates that need to be done to correct the signs that are misleading to locations. History Ride –Michelle Dunlap heads up this sub-committee and confirmed the date of September 26th for the ride. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the commission voted to make the ride virtual. The theme for the virtual ride will be the underground-railroad since getting authorizations from the houses on the Mid-Century Modern homes was difficult and we weren’t getting any assistance from the Historical Preservation Society since the ride wasn’t in person. There are items that needed to be accomplished, we were going to gather the notes on the ride and also communicating with the city about scheduling a time to record in studio and also getting them to film the ride. Bicycle Plan Update - The Commission had a guest from the Elmhurst Bicycle Club, Kim Messina, to speak about their bicycle plan with the city of Elmhurst. Provided valuable input as to their experience in trying to get items from their bicycle plan passed with the city and also explained that they reach out to organizations such as the ATA and the State Government for Grants and monetary assistance. They were working with a company, Civil Tech, to provide an updated Bicycle report and mentioned that it was nearly $50,000 to get that completed. Thanked her for participating in our meeting and providing wonderful experiences in their city. Various Issues – Reach out to potential new members for the Commission. IV.
