Bicycle Advisory Commission Invites Community Virtually Join Bike Tour
As with many things in 2020, the Wheaton Bicycle Advisory Commission was forced to sideline its
original plan to host a group ride for the community, stopping at significant places in Wheaton’s history.
Instead, the commission invites you to join a “virtual” ride with the group on your own – with a little
help from the internet.
The City’s website now features a mapped ride with accompanying video segments narrated by the
Wheaton Bicycle Advisory Commission. You can visit the tour at https://arcg.is/1Kz8WW and ride along,
with turn-by-turn biking directions. Each stop has a different narrated video clip, sharing information
about Wheaton’s place in the Underground Railroad. The ride begins at Blanchard Hall on the campus of
Wheaton College, 501 College Avenue, and the last stop is Cross Street near the Wheaton Public Library.
BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA
October 21, 2020
The commission invites you to enjoy the ride and learn something new about your community. Please
remember to ride safely, follow the rules of the road and always wear a helmet when riding. The City
also encourages drivers to watch for and safely share the road with bicyclists.
New Members Dan & Bob to get shirts and complete official documentation with the city
