WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISS!ONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 w WEsLEY sTREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 Monday, July 29, 2024 Open Meeting 5:30 p.m. I. Call to Order At 5:40 p.m., Chair Illia called to order the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Illia, Commissioner Vroman, and Commissioner Haines. Also present were Police Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Conway, Deputy Chief Gabryel, and Human Resources Director Schulz. Commissioners Wanzenberg and Cannova were absent. Public Comment — None Approval of Minutes Commissioner Haines moved and CommissionerVroman seconded the motion to approve the meeting minutes ofJuly 15th, 2024 Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair Illia CommissionerVroman Commissioner Haines Nays: None Commissioners Wanzenberg and Cannova were absent. Motion Carried Old Business — none New Business — none VI. Closed Session a. Entry level Police Officer Candidate Interview 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21) At 5:41 p.m., Commissioner Haines moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to move into closed session. The motion passed unanimously. At 9:05 p.m., Commissioner Haines moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to come out of closed session.
