WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 w WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 Wednesday, July 31, 2024 Open Meeting 5:00 p.m. Call to Order At 5:00 p.m., Chair Illia called to order the regular meeting ofthe Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Illia, Commissioner Cannova, Commissioner Vroman, Commissioner Wanzenberg, and Commissioner Hainest Also present were Police Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Conway, Deputy Chief Gabryel, and Human Resources Director Schulz. I. Public Comment — None III. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Haines moved and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to approve the open meeting minutes of July 29th, 2024 Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair Illia Commissioner Cannova Commissioner Wanzenberg Commissioner Vroman Commissioner Haines Nays: None Motion Carried IV. Old Business — none V. New Business — none VI. Closed Session a. Entry level Police Officer Candidate Interview SILCS 120/2(C)(21) b. Approval of Closed Session Minutes 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21) At 5:02 p.m., Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Cannova seconded the motion to move into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The motion passed unanimously. BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSERS MEETING MINUTES At 9:45 p.m., Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Cannova seconded the motion to come out of closed session. The motion passed unanimously. VII. Adjournment At 9:46 p.m., Commissioner Cannova moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Vroman seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
