WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 W WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 Thursday, August 1, 2024 Open Meeting 5:00 p.m. Call to Order At 4:59 p.m., Chair lllia called to order the regular meeting ofthe Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St, Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair lllia, Commissioner Cannova, Commissioner Vroman, Commissioner Wanzenberg, and Commissioner Haines. Also present were Police Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Conway, Deputy Chief Gabryel, and Human Resources Director Schulz. Public Comment — None Approval of Minutes - None Old Business - none New Business a. Approve Fire Initial Eligibility List with preference points Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Cannova seconded the motion to approve the Fire lnitial Eligibility List with preference points. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair lllia Commissioner Cannova Commissioner Wanzenberg Commissioner Vroman Commissioner Haines Nays: None Motion Carried VI. Closed Session a. Entry level and Lateral Police Officer Candidate Interview 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21) At 5:03 p.m., Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to move into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The motion passed unanimously.
