WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 W WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 § Thursday October 24, 2024 Open Meeting 5:00 p.m. Call to Order At 5:00 p.m., Commissioner IlIia called to order the special meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon the roll call, the following were present: Chair—Commissioner Illia, Commissioner Cannova, Commissioner Vroman, and Commissioner Haines. Also present were Fire Chief Brill, Assistant Chief Vassios, and Director of Human Resources Schulz. Commissioner Wanzenberg was absent. Public Comment No public comment Approval of Minutes Commissioner Vroman moved, and Commissioner Haines seconded the motion to approve the open meeting minutes from October 17th, 2024. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Commissioner Illia Commissioner Cannova Commissioner Haines Commissioner Vroman Nays: None Absent: Commissioner Wanzenberg Motion Carried Old Business None New Business None  VI. Closed Session At 5:02 p.m. Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded to move into closed session. The motion carried unanimously A. Approval of Closed Session Minutes 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21) B. Entry Level Firefighter Candidate Interviews 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21) At 6:35 p.m. Commissioner Haines moved, and Commissioner lllia seconded to move out of closed session. The motion carried unanimously. VII. Approval of Final Firefighter Eligibility List Commissioner Vroman moved to approve the Final Firefighter Eligibility List as presented. Commissioner Haines seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. VIII. Adjournment Commissioner Vroman moved, and Commissioner Illia seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
