WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMlSSlONERS MEETING MINUTES WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 w WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOIS 60187 Thursday April 24 2025 Regular Meeting 5:00 p.m. I. Cali to Order At 5:01 p.m., the Special meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair lllia. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Commissioner Cannova, Commissioner Vroman and Chair Illia. Also present was Human Resources Director Schulz, Fire Chief Brill, and Assistant Fire Chief Vassios. Commissioner Haines & Commissioner Wanzenberg were absent. ll. Public Comment No public comment Ill. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Vroman moved and Commissioner Cannova seconded to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2025 regular meeting. The motion carried unanimously. IV. Old Business None V. New Business Commissioner Vroman moved to approve the Educational Waiver Request for the Police Commander Process, and Commissioner Cannova seconded approve the waiver Request. All voted in favor and the motion passed. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair Illia Commissioner Vroman Commissioner Cannova Nays: None Absent: Commissioner Haines Commissioner Wanzenberg Motion Carried Unanimously VI. Closed Session Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded to move into closed session. The motion carried unanimously  A. Review of Closed Minutes SILCS 120/2(C)(21) B. Review of Entry Level Police Candidate SILCS 120/2(C)(1) C. Firefighter Candidate Interviews SILCS 120/2(C)(1) Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded to move into closed session. The motion carried unanimously VII. Review of Closed Minutes Commissioner Cannova moved to keep closed minutes reviewed in closed session. Commissioner Vroman seconded and all approved the motion. VIII.
