WHEATON BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES V WHEATON CITY HALL, 303 w WESLEY STREET, WHEATON, ILLINOTs 60187 Thursday, May 29, 2025 Open Meeting 3:00 p.m. I. Call to Order At 2:58 p.m., Chair Illia called to order the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chair Illia. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Illia, Commissioner Wanzenberg, and Commissioner Vroman. Also present was Police Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Gabryel, Deputy Chief Conway, Lieutenant Potter, and Human Resources Director Holly Schulz. Commissioners Cannova and Haines arrived at 5:30 p.m. and Commissioners Wanzenberg and Illia left at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Gabryel, and Deputy Chief Conway left at 6:30 p.m: II. Public Comment — None iii. Approval of Minutes a. Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to approve the meeting minutes of May 27th and May 28th, 2025 Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Chair Illia Commissioner Wanzenberg Commissioner Vroman Nays: None Commissioners Cannova and Haines were absent The motion carried. IV. Old Business — None V. New Business — None VI. Closed Session a. Entry level and Lateral Police Officer Candidate Interview SILCS 120/2(C)(21) At 3:00 p.m., Commissioner Vroman moved, and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded the motion to move into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The motion passed unanimously. BOARD OF FIRE & POLICE COMMISSERS MEETING MINUTES March 8, 2023 At 8:17 p.m., Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to move out of closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The (x motion passed unanimously. VII. Adjournment At 8:22 p.m., Commissioner Haines moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cannova seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
