WHEATON HOUSING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES REGULAR MEETING February 9, 2017 The regular meeting of the Wheaton Housing Commission was held in the Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall, at 303 W. Wesley Street, Wheaton, Illinois. The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 by Housing Commission Chair, Tom Hudock. Present: Absent: Thomas Hudock Andrea Petti Bob Barger Raj Salgia Jeannie Iseman Chris Ellerman Stuart Johnson Jan Kay Mike Rybinski William Gilbertson Joe Kreidl - City of Wheaton Special Guests: None Public Comment: None. Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Gilbertson moved and Commissioner Rybinski seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the January 12, 2017 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Communications: ● 2016/2017 Wheaton Housing Assistance Summary - UPDATED ● Wheaton Housing Commission January 2016 minutes Old Business: ● Commissioner Ellerman is not in attendance, but has discussed with Chair Hudock that Candice King would be available in April or May 2017 to present on the DuPage Federation. ● Commissioner Iseman will be in contact with World Relief DuPage to try to reschedule a time for a presentation at the March 2017 meeting. ● Commissioner Hudock has sent a list of condo associations that do not see a city water bill. L. Qualkenbush relayed to Commissioner Hudock that there are 26 applications that have been received (although it is unknown as to how many are re-applicants). New Business: ● Commissioner Barger would like to see if CHAD has any clients that could possibly qualify for the Housing program. Commissioner Barger will call the organization this month. 1  ● Commissioner Barger will contact the DuPage Senior Citizens Council to see if those clients that receive Meals on Wheels would be able to apply for the program. ● Commissioner Kay would like to consider talking to the mayor to add information about the program on Channel 10. ● City representative Kreidl was asked if there was any information about the current city budget. Currently, he does not report of any known reductions in commissions. ● City council approved appointments for Commissioners Iseman, Petti, and Gilbertson. Discussion of Next Meeting Agenda: ● Applications will be due February 24, 2017. A list of applicants for each commissioner will be made available by the March 2017 meeting. Adjournment: Commissioner Rybinski motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. and Commissioner Iseman seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. 2
