No official word has been received on when the unit will return to Ft. Riley but we will still be planning a welcome home event when they do return. B. Cultural Diversity – Dan Loftus. Dan indicated that he and Betsy Adamowski had finalized the date for The Wheaton World Tour Event for Saturday, August 20, 2016. This date would have no conflict with NFL and High School football like last year. The theme of the event would move away from performance entertainment to games, a pet parade and contests at the various service organization booths that would be set up in Adams Park. The visitors would be challenged at each booth and be able to win prizes. The Event would be featured in the City of Wheaton and Library Newsletters, banners would be updated and displayed, new posters would be created and a Chat with the Mayor would create publicity for the Event. C. Make a Difference Day – Bill Gilbertson. There has been no further planning for this event but we will continue to be looking for specific activities to involve individuals and groups in on that day. D.
