Special Meeting Monday, April 28, 2025 7:00 to 8:30 pm Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall I. Call to Order a. Meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm II. Welcome The Community Relations Commission's purpose is to foster and promote understanding, mutual respect, cooperation, and positive relations in a diverse inclusive community. The Community Relations Commission is also to promote increased participation in all aspects of community life and a sense of shared community among all residents. III. Roll Call In Person: Meg Beasley, Kathy Bushong, Scott Chedister, Andrea Clayton, Yvette Diericx, Mike Hodel, Andrew McGady, Erica Nelson, Laura Peccarelli, and Shauna Thorson Absent: David Sohmer IV. Good Citizens a. Andrew shared results of blind selection vote. Every commissioner submitted feedback through interactive form. b. Top candidates were evident through compiled vote tallies. c. Discussion took place regarding additional candidates and further selections were made based on commissioner feedback. d. Numbers associated with the award winners will be submitted to Michelle Mayer who will notify candidates and nominators regarding selection. V. Public Comment a. An AP student (not from Wheaton) named Stephen joined the meeting via Zoom as part of a class project. VI. Adjournment - meeting was 7:48 pm Erica Nelson May 8, 2025 Chairperson, WCRC
