3. NEW BUSINESS
A. The agenda was approved and the minutes of September 29 were approved. Moved by Sarah and
seconded by Bill.
B. After considerable discussion it was decided that Wheaton had more information about its
involvement with the abolitionists than the underground railroad. We would like to put together a
power point presentation to present to the schools that would include interesting facts about street
namings, buildings and people. Mike would work with David Malone in creating this work. This would
be a preamble to a live performance about the Civil War which was written by someone Bill has contact
with. This performance would be presented at Gary Wheaton Church. Mike will contact Bob Rammer,
Ass't Superintendent of District 200 for directions on how to approach schools. Bill will contact Gary
Wheaton Church for use of the facility, playwrite and Danial Parker, collector of black art. This event will
coincide with Black History Month (February). We will discuss this at November 24 meeting
