City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall January 18, 2018 Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Bill Austin, Tony Asta, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman and Kathy Young. No absentees. 2._________Public Comment Ellen Callahan, Board President of the DuPage Symphony attended the meeting. She wanted to observe what the commission’s objectives were. 3. New Business The agenda was approved. Moved by Kathy and seconded by Laurie The minutes from October 25 and November 15 were approved. Moved by Mike and seconded by Bill. 4. Old Business The purpose of the special meeting was to brain storm the golf event. Laurie presented a rough outline of duties to be performed. Mike and Laurie brought us up to date on their meetings with the Park District and Mayor Gresk. All outside parties are enthusiastic about this project. It has been recommended that the sponsorship fee for the golf balls should be $2500. The kickoff date to display is on the first day of Taste of Wheaton, June 1. The golf tournament starts on July 11 and ends July 14 at Chicago Golf. After considerable discussion we outlined a game plan. Mike is putting together a spreadsheet action plan which we will follow through with some of the duties before our next meeting. 5. Miscellaneous Meeting adjourned 6:30 Dee Hicks, Secretary
