City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission April 4, 2018 City Hall Minutes 1. Call to Order Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Bill Austin, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman and Kathy Young. Absent: Sarah Antas and Tony Asta. 2._________Public Comment None 3. New Business Motion by Mike to approve agenda. Second Laurie. Passed Motion by Laurie to approve minutes. Second Kathy. Passed 4. Old Business Laurie reported that we have sold 12 balls. We are planning a “meet and greet” get together to introduce artists to sponsors. This is planned for April 18 from 6:00 to 7:00 in City Hall conference room. Dee will organize food and drink. We are planning on storing the balls in the annex and hopefully allowing the artist to paint them in that space. Paints, brushes and all supplies will be available at no cost to the artist. Laurie is checking with Carlsons to obtain a price break on supplies. Hopefully we will be able to tour the annex so sponsors and artists can see what is available. Mike will check to see if we can have special allowance to paint in the annex on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Mike will check with the paint company to purchase small containers for artists. Laurie asked that all commissioners try and sell at least 14 names for the community ball. 5.
