City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall April 11, 2018 Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:01. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Bill Austin, Tony Asta, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman and Kathy Young. Also in attendance were Glenbard West students: James Harman, Samuel Renkert and David Wozniak 2._________Public Comment The Glenbard students introduced themselves and were full-filling a requirement from A.P. Government to attend a governmental meeting. 3. New Business A. Agenda was moved to be accepted by Laurie and seconded by Bill. Motion passed B. Minutes from April 4 was moved to be accepted by Sarah and seconded by Laurie. Motion passed. 4. Old Business The balls were to be delivered 4/13/18 to the annex. The City has given permission to paint in the annex on Saturdays. Mike and Laurie will make sure paints and materials are in annex. Bob Bachenek will communicate with the artists at the “meet and greet” next Wednesday. He has donated brushes and quills for the project. The Commission will supplement any other materials needed. The “meet and greet” will be held in the annex on Wednesday April 18. Dee will organize refreshments. Sarah will supply sign-in sheets/name tags/signs. A schedule to “ball sit” on Saturday mornings is as follows: 4/21 - Mike and Dee, 4/28 – Sarah and Bill, 5/6 – Kathy and Laurie. 5/12 open. If there are any complications let “partner” know or trade with someone. One person is probably enough to oversee artists. We are still in process of designing programs/signs and score cards.
