City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall June 20, 2018 Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:07. Present: Tony Asta, Don Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman and Kathy Young. Not in attendance: Bill Austin and Sarah Antas 2._________Public Comment None 3. New Business A. Agenda approved. Motion: Mike, second Tony B. June 13 minutes approved. Motion: Laurie, second Kathy 4. Old Business Golf ball project The last sponsor ball was finalized and approved by all. All signs have been updated to coordinate with 13 balls rather than 12. The collection for the swag bags has been growing. There has been some confusion with the City being able to cut $100 checks for the artists. Motion made by Mike, second Laurie “If the City cannot cut checks for the artsist we will purchase gift cards $100 per artist or $50 for multiple artists. The library has agreed to loan us the vintage golf cutouts for the reception. Our logo will be added to the ball easel. Program: Laurie will send to Dee as soon as received from Alpha Graphics. Alpha Graphics will give us layout of note cards. All Commissioners should follow up with people who signed on the community ball for attendance at the reception. Anyone able is invited to walk through Arrowhead on Tuesday at 4:00 Suggested timing for the event is: 5:00 – social, 6:00 – formal intro 5.
