Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

Monday July 1, 2019 I. Call to Order Chair Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Tony Asta, Bill Austin, Mike Bock, Laurie Swanson and Kathy Young. Absentees: Dee Hicks II. Agenda Item Mike Bock moved and Tony Asta seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. III. Agenda Item Art Work for Wheaton Festival of Cultures- Tony Asta presented new image for poster for Festival. New image was completed by teacher and 5 students from Wheaton North. Tony will get each artist a waiver to sign. Tony said he does not need anything else from Commission. Event is September 4th, 2019 IV. Agenda Item Artists’ Exhibition at The Burning Bush Gallery- Tony reported that most of the Golf Ball Artists have responded and are participating. He has not been able to contact them all yet, but will keep trying. Commission will host a reception for the artists. Dee and Laurie will handle refreshments. Tony will send information regarding the reception to Arin Thrower. V. Agenda Item Golf Ball Project: Mike has received a picture of the USGA ball at it’s new home in New Jersey and will share it next meeting.
