26, August 2020 – Virtual Meeting
I. Call to Order
President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks,
Laurie Swanson Oberhelman, Tony Asta, and Sara Antas. Absent: Kathy Young.
II. Agenda Items:
Mike Bock moved and Laurie Swanson Oberhelman seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion
carried

Laurie Swanson Oberhelman moved and Sara Antas seconded the approval of Minutes from August
18, 2020. Motion carried.
Agenda Item
Window Painting: Laurie talked with rep from DWA and received outline of their needs: guideline
list, and artist retrieval. DWA will pay the artist $200-$300 to paint window and purchase materials
necessary. Laurie will meet with rep September 8 at 11:00 and finalize questions that include:
DWA board approval for project
Waivers from artists. (under 18 and over 18)
Guidelines: Family Friendly, no electrical, approval of art
No political, religious or sexual themes
Must be finalized by October 1 and intact until end of month.
Paint restrictions
Drop cloths are required to keep sidewalk clean
Misc. information: Mike will forward Laurie guidelines and waiver forms used for golf project.
November is National Arts and Humanities Month
Who will wash the windows before and after project completion?
How many windows will be painted? What are the sizes of windows?
Who will approve art?
DWA will handle all marketing and contacts to retailers
Who will pay the artists?

Fire Plug painting. Mike checked with Lombard Public Works Department and found that the project
was in Villa Park. He will follow up.

New commissioner. Mike has received two applicants and will contact them, as well as put notice in
city newsletter announcing the opening for one commissioner. Candidates are: David Duve and
Gerald Gallagher.

Music in the Park was cancelled. There will be future discussion about this event including the
renaming.

Tony Asta moved and Laurie Swanson Oberhelman seconded that the meeting be adjourned at 6:32.
Next meeting scheduled for September 8 – 5:00 Virtual meeting.
