June 28, 2022 Minutes, Wheaton City Hall Virual and In-person meeting. Gamon Room I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks Laurie Oberhelman , Randy King. Sarah Antas was absent and Dave Duve and Bari Ericson attended via Zoom. II. Approval of agenda Mike Bock moved and Laurie Oberhelman seconded the approval of the agenda with the addition of Fire Hydrant project under old business. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote. III. Public Comments N/C IV. Approval of Minutes V. Laurie Oberhelman moved and Mike Bock seconded the approval of the minutes of May 24. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote. VI. New Business none VII. Old Business Kathy Young: Mike will check with the City for written appreciation. Laurie will purchase tea cup with thank you note. Mike will check with Kathy’s husband to make sure she is available for acknowledgement. International Day of Music: Scheduled for October 1 at the band shell. Still awaiting confirmation of availability of venue before contacting choirs. Bari will check availability of library patio area for staging. Randy and Laurie will be responsible for signing up buskers. A definite fee has not been established. David will contact high schools regarding choral participation. Dee will check “Sounds Good Choir”. All choirs are required to sing “It’s a Small World, Isn’t it?” Lock Project: Tabled until future meeting. No progress Chamber of Commerce has formed a new Committee called Art Business and Culture Committee: Mike Dyer from the Chamber has invited our group to join their meeting on May 25. No progress. New Commission Member process: Mike Bock moved and Laurie Oberhelman seconded that Mike will draft a letter to Mayor Suess inviting him to our next meeting, July 26 at 6:00 p.m. to discusss the process for Commissioner appointments. Motion approved by unanimous vote. Fire Hydrant: Paint is still not available. Table project until next spring. Laurie Oberhelman moved and Randy King seconded that we adjourn at 6:54.
