May 23 2023 Minutes, City Hall I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m. II. Roll Call Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Swanson, Randy King and Sarah Antas. Lewis Achenbach and Dave Duve were absent. Bari Ericson from the Public Library was also present. III. Mike Bock moved, and Laurie Swanson seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. IV. Approval of Minutes: Laurie Swanson moved to accept April 25, 2023 minutes. Sarah Antas seconded. Motion carried. V. New Business: International Day of Music will be held October 1. Further action will be taken later. VI. Old Business: Fire Hydrant Project: • Laurie Swanson passed out posters highlighting Fire Hydrant project for Commission members to distribute to stores to display throughout Wheaton. We will distribute once the pdf downloadable map is complete and on the website. Randy is finishing up the pdf and will send to Laurie. Target is to have it on the site by June 1st. The plan is to distribute accordingly. • Randy will take photos of finished hydrants to be posted on the website. Should be complete within the next 10 days. • Mike Bock moved that we allocate up to $1000 for artists reception to cover expenses. Laura Swanson seconded. Motion approved by unanimous vote. Warhol Party 8/5/23: • Things are progressing. Lewis is creating a site map indicting how we will be setting up the space at the Pavilion for this event. One the site map is completed Sarah will be submitting our request for a permit, VII.
