Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

March 19, 2024, Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall I. Call to Order Chair Lewis Achenbach called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. II. Roll Call Those present: Mike Bock, Randy King, Lewis Achenbach and Vittoria Clay. Also present: Bari Ericson from the Wheaton Library. III. Public Comments None IV. Agenda: Mike Bock moved, and Randy King seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. V. Approval of Minutes: Randy King moved to accept February 27, 2024 minutes Vittoria Clay seconded. Motion carried. VI. New Business: Festival of Cultures: Discussion about participation. Lew to reach out to Erica to discuss. Women in Visual Arts: No participation this year. Maybe next year. VII. Old Business Make Music Day: Website up and running. People can sign up. Some groups are already signing up. Jerry Evans music plans on supporting. Permit application submitted for Adams Park. More locations being identified. • Motion: Lewis Achenbach moved, and Randy King seconded that we allocate $1,700 for promotion including yard signs, posters, and other collaterals. Motion carried. Public Art Project: In process. Planning demonstration of digital projection for the city. Randy King and Lewis Achenbach will meet with the city to review the proposed stages for the project. Then potentially schedule a digital projection demonstration at the site for the city and other interested parties. VIII.
