January 28, 2025 Gamon Room, Wheaton, City Hall Minutes
1. Call to Order
President Lewis Achenbach called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Mike Bock , Dee Hicks, Randy King, Lewis Achenbach, Christine Denz and Lynette Zelis.
Absent: Sarah Antas, Vittoria Clay and Victoria Isikman.
3. Agenda:
Mike Bock moved and Randy King seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried.
4. Approval of Minutes:
Lynette Zelis moved to accept December 10, 2024, minutes. Mike Bock seconded. Motion carried.
5. New Business:
Make Music –Lewis Achenbach suggested that two jobs be appointed to move this project forward:
(a) School outreach and (b) website monitoring. Lynette and Christine volunteered to follow through
with these jobs. Randy King will head-up trouble shooting. This project will commence on February 1
and sign off on May 1.
Local Arts Ambassadors – Table until next meeting.
Katsushida Hokusdai – Lewis Achenbach will follow up with Bari to see what our Commission can do
to assist in this project.
Election of Officers – Mike Bock moved to elect Lewis Achenbach as president and Dee Hicks as
secretary. Randy King seconded. Motion carried
6. Old Business:
Arts sub-committee:
Randy King is meeting with venders. He is working with Mike Dzugan and brought us up to date on
progress of French Market mural.
Randy King moved and Mike Bock seconded the meeting be adjourned at 6:42. Motion carried.

The purpose of the Fine and Cultural Arts Commission is to:
Increase citizen access to the arts by providing leadership, advocacy, and the support for art that enriches the
cultural vitality of our community.
Provide advice and work cooperatively with the city council to promote fine and cultural arts in the city.
Foster and promote an appreciation of fine arts within the city by enlisting and encouraging public and private
agencies, as well as the general public, to support art and cultural events within the city.
At the request of the City Council, review and make recommendations directly to the City Council for artworks
for public buildings and public spaces.
Assist in creating and maintaining a city-wide arts and culture webpage on the city website that includes links
to art-related organizations and individuals who advance art in the city.
