FOREIGN FIRE TAX BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2015
CALLED TO ORDER: 0840
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chief Schultz, Lt. Hunecke, FF Ruck, FF Igara, FF Tabb (0845)
OTHERS PRESENT: A/C Vassios, Lt. Felker(0842), FF Mortenson(0842), Lt. Byas (0903)
REVIEW OF OLD MINUTES:
The minutes from the August 6th 2015 meeting were reviewed. A motion to accept the minutes
by Chief Schultz was seconded by Lt. Hunecke.
The motion was passed unanimously
TREASURER’S REPORT:
FF Ruck provided a written treasurers report. FF Ruck explained that we are still working on
acquiring a checking account from which we can accrue interest. Lt. Hunecke made a motion to accept
the treasurer’s report. Motion seconded by Chief Schultz.
Motion passed unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
AGENDA ADDITIONS: None
OLD BUSINESS:
New Yorker style helmets were presented. Samples of the helmets were used to explain the
fitting and styles. An email will be sent to Fire Department Employees in the near future for possible
purchase of New Yorker style helmets. There are two styles to choose from. Lt. Hunecke made a motion
to table the issue until the next meeting and was seconded by FF Igara.
Motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Door Storm Ultra (Lt. Felker) - Purchase of a new door storm was under discussion for the new
engine. Lt. Hunecke made the motion to purchase the new door storm not to exceed $1700.00. Motion
seconded by FF Tabb.
Motion passed unanimously
Bullard Vehicle TIC Charger (Lt. Felker) – A new TIC charger for the new engine was brought up
for possible purchase. Chief Schultz will purchase the charger. This item was struck from FFT Board.
Forcible Entry Prop for Training (Lt. Hunecke) – This issue has been tabled until we find out more
from alliance Fire Departments to see if we all are able to purchase this item for future training. Motion
made by Lt. Hunecke, seconded by FF Igara.
The motion passed unanimously.
Extrication Equipment (Lt. Felker) – It was brought up to possibly trade in electric extrication
pump on Crimson for a gas pump. A cordless battery powered extrication tool was said to be a better
option. A motion was made by Lt. Hunecke to purchase a battery powered extrication tool not to exceed
$9500.00. Motion was seconded by FF Ruck.
The motion passed unanimously.
Engine Equipment – Went over the list of items to purchase in order to make all engines as
identical as possible. The list will have to be reviewed in detail. This issue was struck from the FFT board
by Lt. Hunecke.
Wheaton Barbell (Lt. Hunecke) The renewal of the Wheaton Barbell contract was discussed. The
contract needs to be renewed by October 1st, 2015. It was discussed that we may need to look into
other options. FF Ruck made the motion to renew the contract, seconded by Chief Schultz.
Voted “Yes”: Chief Schultz, FF Ruck
Voted “No”: Lt. Hunecke, FF Tabb, FF Igara
The motion failed
