FOREIGN FIRE TAX BOARD MEETING May 26, 2016 CALLED TO ORDER 0809 Board Members Present: Chief Schultz, FF Ruck, Lt. Hunecke, FF Baus, FF Igara, FF Tabb (via video conference,) Others present: Asst. Chief Vassios, Lt. Cochran, FF Mensing, FF Williams, Old Minutes Treasurer’s Report FF Ruck presented a report of the current account balances and recent purchases. Chief Schultz motioned to accept the report. FF Baus seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously Public Comment - None Agenda Additions - Refrigerators for station 39 – tabled till next meeting. Old Business - New Yorker helmets – Chief Schultz says that we can now start moving forward with the New Yorker helmets. He will get an updated pricing list, and Lt. Hunecke will poll the department to determine interest. New Business Board assignments/open position – Everyone agrees to Lt. Hunecke emailing the department for a special election to fill the vacancy on the board. Lt. Hunecke nominates FF Baus for secretary, which FF Ruck seconds. FF Baus accepts the nomination which passes unanimously. Lt. Hunecke nominates FF Ruck for treasurer, which FF Baus seconds. FF Ruck accepts the nomination which passes unanimously. Lt. Hunecke nominates FF Tabb for vice president, which FF Baus seconds. FF Tabb accepts the nomination which passes unanimously. FF Ruck nominates Lt. Hunecke for president, which FF Igara seconds. Lt. Hunecke accepts the nomination which passes unanimously.  37 fitness equipment – Igara – FF Igara presented fitness equipment to be purchased. This has been tabled until next meeting. Cabinetry – Lt. Hunecke – This has been tabled until next meeting. Hose testing company – Ruck – FF Ruck and a representative from Waterway Illinois presented the service of hose testing to be done by Waterway Illinois. FF Ruck motioned to hire Waterway Illinois to test all of our fire hose for an amount not to exceed $6000, which FF Igara seconded. Waterway is to provide Chief Schultz with more information, and we will discuss possibly moving forward with this service (pending the Chiefs approval) at our upcoming union meeting. The motion failed Safety glasses lens replacement – Lt. Hunecke – Lt. Hunecke motioned to approve up to $2000 to purchase replacement parts and lenses for safety glasses. FF Igara seconded the motion The motion passed unanimously 37 outdoor supplies – Tabb – FF Tabb presented a list of supplies that we need for the outdoors area of station 37. We will use money previously approved for outdoor supplies at station 39 that didn’t get purchased. Smart board and projector – Franzone – Lt. Franzone presented the purchase of a smartboard and projector for the training room at station 38. Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase both not to exceed $6000, which was seconded by FF Ruck. The motion passed unanimously Fitness reimbursements – Lt. Hunecke motioned to reimburse FF Nauman per the FFT fitness reimbursement policy. FF Ruck seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously Station update project – Discussion of helping fund station updates and improvements. We are in favor of this, but we’ll need to research more. Good of the order - Chief Schultz to suspend hose testing till after the union meeting. Adjournment at 1012 - motioned by Lt. Hunecke, and seconded by FF Baus. The motion passed unanimously
