FOREIGN FIRE TAX BOARD MEETING
February 9, 2017
CALLED TO ORDER 0810
Board Members Present: Chief Schultz, Lt. Hunecke (phone,) FF Baus, FF Igara, Lt. Cochran, FF Ruck, FF
Tabb (phone),
Others present: Chief MacKay, Chief Vassios, Lt. Franzone, Lt. Deno
Old Minutes – The minutes were reviewed from the September meeting. Lt. Cochran motioned to
approve the minutes, and FF Ruck seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report – FF Ruck presented a treasurers report and reviewed fitness reimbursements. FF
Ruck requested for all members that submit for reimbursement in the future include a cover sheet with
their pertinent information. Lt. Cochran motioned to approve the report, and FF Ruck seconded the
motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Public Comment - None
Agenda Additions - Garment bags, mower
FF Ruck motioned to purchase good garment bags for all firefighters to store their class “A”
uniforms in not to exceed $2300. Chief Schultz seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Mower – has been tabled until the next meeting.
Old Business - None
New Business -
TRT items – Lt. Franzone presented the Aztek system for technical rescues. This item has been
tabled until the next meeting.
Replacement dayroom seating (Baus) – FF Baus presented replacement dayroom seating from
Bulldog tuff seating. Chiefs Schultz and MacKay want all warranty and service information to be kept on
file for easy reference. Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase 6 replacement dayroom seats not to exceed
$5000 with Chief Schultz, Lt. Hunecke, and FF Baus working on disposal of old seats. FF Baus seconded
the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Station supplies (Baus) – FF Baus presented Gordon Food Services for the purchase of station
kitchen supplies. Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase station kitchen supplies for all 3 stations not to
exceed $1800. The FFT board will approve a list of eligible items that can be purchased from GFS. A
member from the FFT board will be assigned to each station to assess station needs with other
personnel at their station. Lt. Cochran seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Nomex hoods – Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase a spare Nomex hood for all firefighters not to
exceed $1800 which Lt. Cochran seconded.
The motion passed unanimously.
Pallet Jack (Igara) – Chief Schultz will be tending to this.
Gas monitors – Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase 2 spare monitors (1 sensit and 1 four gas
monitor) not to exceed $2700 which Lt. Cochran seconded.
The motion passed unanimously.
Good of the order - Chief Schultz would like to commend the FFT board for doing a good job for the
Wheaton Fire Department. He wants to make sure that we follow the chain of command and use the
proper channels when purchasing and proposing purchases for the department. He would also like our
help in the future with some upcoming station updates.
Adjournment - 0910 - motioned by Chief Schultz, and seconded by Lt. Cochran.
