Wheaton Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting Wednesday May 3rd 2017 at 8:00 am at Fire Station 38 Minutes * Call to order - 0810 * Roll Call - Board members present : Chief Schultz, Lt. Hunecke, FF Ruck, FF Tabb, FF Igara, FF Baus, Lt. Cochran Others present – Chief Vassios * Reading/Approval of old Minutes - Lt. Hunecke motioned to accept the 2/9/17 minutes, pending an amendment under station supplies. Lt. Cochran seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously * Treasurer’s Report - FF Ruck presented a treasurers report which Lt. Cochran motioned to accept. FF Tabb seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously * Public Comment - None * Agenda additions - None * Old Business - None * New Business Board assignments/Open position - FF's Ruck, Tabb, and Igara were re-elected to the board. The board assignments are as follows President – Lt. Hunecke – motioned by FF Igara, seconded by FF Tabb. The motion passed unanimously Vice President – FF Tabb – motioned by FF Ruck, seconded by FF Baus. The motion passed unanimously Treasurer – FF Ruck – motioned by Lt. Cochran, seconded by Lt. Hunecke. The motion passed unanimously Secretary – FF Baus – motioned by Lt. Hunecke, seconded by FF Ruck. The motion passed unanimously Electric mowing equipment for 37 - Lt. Hunecke presented FF Sellers pitch for an electric yard maintenance combo, consisting of a battery powered mower, trimmer, and blower. Lt. Cochran motioned to purchase the equipment, not to exceed $1000. Lt. Hunecke seconded the motion. Chief Schultz added that we will be monitoring cost of maintenance/repairs to be certain that this is a good investment.  Hose testing company– Ruck - FF Ruck presented a quote from Waterway to complete this years hose testing. He informed us that we will need to get all "rack" hose in 1 location, so all the testing can be completed in 1 day. FF Ruck motioned to hire Waterway to conduct our hose testing, which was seconded by Lt. Cochran. The motion passed with 1 nay vote (Lt. Hunecke) Safety Glasses lens replacement – Ruck – Lt. Hunecke made a motion not to exceed $1500 to update and maintain safety glasses. The motion was seconded by Lt. Cochran. The motion passed unanimously 39 outdoor supplies - FF Ackerman asked the FFT to purchase outdoor station supplies for station 39, not to exceed $150. Lt. Hunecke made a motion not to exceed $500 for outdoor station supplies for all 3 stations. The motion passed unanimously Fitness Reimbursements program renewal - Ruck - FF Ruck motioned to renew the fitness reimbursement program, not to exceed $9,999.99. Lt. Cochran seconded the motion. Lt. Hunecke voiced his reservations about the program. The motion passed with 2 nay votes (Chief Schultz, Lt. Hunecke) New Engine Equipment Mounting - Lt. Hunecke motioned to purchase mounting equipment for the new engine, not to exceed $5000. Chief Schultz seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously Helmet Shields for Phoenix Helmets – Lt. Hunecke presented a proposal to get new helmet shields that would have the proper size Velcro patch for our helmet tags. Chief Schultz stated that he wouldn't be opposed to the idea of different size helmet tags. Lt. Hunecke is going to contact the original vendor to see if this can be corrected through them. This item has been tabled until the next meeting. * Good of the order - Station 37 chairs are coming. Chief Schultz mentioned that we are doing a good job for the department. He would like to make sure that we continue to follow the proper chain of command, and do so within the appropriate committees. Lt. Hunecke will work on a guideline for future FFT proposals, which committee to speak with, etc. * Adjournment - 0855 - Motioned by Lt. Hunecke, and seconded by FF Baus. The motion passed unanimously
