I. Call to Order
Present in-person at roll call were Finance Committee Chair Alan Herbach and Member Laurie
Metanchuk. Member Joe McHaley and Board President Christine Fenne attended via Zoom. Absent:
None. Library Director Betsy Adamowski and Library Finance Manager Lisa Christell-Sandri were also
present.
II. Citizens to Be Heard
None
III. Discussion of CY2020 Wheaton Public Library Budget
Mrs. Adamowski began by noting that employee retirements this year helped with the CY2021
personnel budget. The Friends of the Library is giving WPL $30,000 for next year’s budget. They are
also going to try pop-up book sales in the library (this year, near the end of September). The Per
Capita Grant that the Library applies for each year has been increased starting next year. Mrs.
Adamowski said that Fines are down, and will probably continue to go down so they have been
lowered in the revenue portion of the CY2021 budget. Overall, revenue is down around $100,000 as
compared to this year’s budget.
IV. Adjournment
Mrs. Fenne moved and Mr. McHaley seconded to adjourn. A voice vote was taken and the motion for
adjournment was carried at 5:46 p.m.

II. Citizens to be Heard
During the Citizens to be Heard portion of the agenda of the Library Board of Trustees meeting, the
President of the Library Board shall recognize any person requesting to be heard. Persons speaking
during the Citizens to be Heard shall not speak longer than 5 minutes and shall be permitted to
speak during the Citizens to be Heard only once. Citizens should address the Board President when
speaking under the Citizens to be Heard portion of the Library Agenda.
