September 9, 2021 I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL VOTE Chair Taylor called the September 9, 2021 meeting of the of the Local Liquor Control Commission to order at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of the Wheaton City Hall, 303 West Wesley Street and via Zoom. Upon roll call, the following were present: Commissioner Brown, Commissioner Sender via Zoom, Chair Taylor via Zoom. Absent: Commissioner Pearse. City Staff Present: James P. Kozik, Director of Planning and Economic Development. II. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – August 18, 2021 Hearing no questions or comments, the minutes of the August 18, 2021 Local Liquor Control Commission meeting were approved as submitted. IV. NEW BUSINESS Application for Outdoor Special Event Liquor License - DuPage County Fair Association - Octoberfest Mr. Kozik stated that the DuPage County Fair Association has submitted Outdoor Special Event Liquor License application in connection with Octoberfest, an event to held at the north end of the DuPage County Fairgrounds on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6pm to 11pm, Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 12noon to 11pm and Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 12noon to 8pm. Mr. Kozik stated that the Fair Association describes Octoberfest as a fundraising event featuring craft vendors, food booths, carnival, and a beer tent. The Fair Association states that this fundraiser will benefit their organization and NAMI DuPage. Mr. Kozik stated that Wheaton Police and BASSET/Wheaton Police-trained volunteers will be on duty at the beer tent entrance to check ID’s and “band” attendees wishing to purchase alcohol and that all servers at the event will receive alcohol training pursuant to the Liquor Ordinance requirements. Hearing no further questions or comments, Commissioner Brown moved and Commissioner Sender seconded a motion to recommend approval of the DuPage County Fair Association’s application for an WHEATON LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION MEETING September 9, 2021 Outdoor Special Event Liquor License in connection with their proposed Octoberfest event. On a roll call vote, all voted aye. V. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS There was no miscellaneous business. VI. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:14 P.M. Respectfully submitted, James P.
