The City of Wheaton is proposing amendments to the text of the Wheaton Zoning Ordinance, Article II, to improve upon the definition of “Family” for compliance with the Fair Housing Act, 42 U.S.C. § 3601, et seq. by deleting the definition of “Family” in its entirety and replacing it with the following language: “Family: Either (a) an individual or two (2) or more persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption, including foster children, living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit; or (b) a group of not more than four (4) persons who need not be related by blood, marriage, or adoption, living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit; plus in either case, usual domestic servants.
